General Art Likes
In terms of artwork I'm open to a lot of different things, but I'll particularly love something which captures the atmosphere of canon, whether that be beautiful scenery, or something grim and gritty. If it suits the fandom and ship, I'm not averse to a bit of gore and violence either, and there's a couple where I'd particularly like some elements of horror. I love contrast and lots of rich intricate detail, but I'm also open to simpler art with softer, more muted colours if that's your style. I also quite like diptychs and triptychs, as well as the use of stylised borders which incorporate themes and objects from canon, such as clockwork, books, or vines. Artist-wise, I'm particularly fond of art nouveau and the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, but seriously, anything.

Assassin’s Creed
Requested Ship: Octavian Claudius Britannicus/Original Male Character
Requested Medium: Art and Fic
That Octavian exists is one of the things I appreciate most about this game, this Roman-obsessed, sexually repressed, utterly adorable weirdo just chilling with his beloved statuary in the middle of a Viking settlement. I mean… what the HELL? Who is he? Why (and when) did he change his name? What tf happened between him and Maximilian? Where does he get his togas? I just… find it utterly delightful that he exists, and I wish he had a bit more of a role in the game. Plus sexually repressed fish-out-of-water oddballs are very, very much RTMI. He's delightful and I just want him to have nice things.
I can see two types of main ship for this, and both appeal: him being shipped with someone quiet and scholarly and similar to him, or go full on for the opposites-attract kind of pairing and hook him up with a Viking or some other warrior. I have no problem with crack played straight, and besides, alcohol is a great leveller and enabler of how-the-fuck-would-that-even-happen romantic pairings. Unrequited pining is also welcome. Go with something borderline-cracky, angsty, or something much sweeter – handle it however you want. I’d love to see something of how he fits in to the settlement or something about his background. How does he feel generally about the Vikings turning up in his homeland and thieving everything that isn’t nailed down?
Play with Greek/Roman mythology – maybe he stumbles on someone bathing and can’t get the image out of his head? Or he gets someone to pose for him. Or someone from his past turns up, or he meets a man who bears more than a passing resemblance to that statue of a Roman legionary he’s so, ahem, fond of. Oh, and that rivalry with Maximilian, and Octavian’s spitting fury, is one of my favourite bits, so if you want to explore that, then do, although I’d prefer that they stay hating each other.
Optional Art Prompts
For art, I'd love to see the gorgeous locations in the game incorporated, especially the Roman ruins and statues. Or alternatively, play with smoke and light and shadow in the longhouse. Or give me something ridiculously adorable and sweet.
Blake’s 7
Requested Ship: Roj Blake/Travis
Requested Medium: Art and Fic
It’s rare that I fall so completely and utterly head-over-heels in love with a show, but it’s happened with Blake’s 7, to the point where frankly I’m a little taken aback. I loved it right from the very first episode, which was so grimly dystopian (the bureaucracy, the people in charge running ‘feasibility studies’ when the possibility being examined is the act of planting false memories of abuse in the minds of children, I mean… fuck. Fuck.) It’s so utterly bleak and awful, but then it’s balanced out by the sheer fun of the sets and the storylines.
I’ll be up for anything that examines the dystopian elements of the world and the Federation, angst, backstory, canon divergent AUs set during, pre- and post-canon, hurt/comfort, whump and torture, trust issues, case fic of the planet-of-the-week sort or the murder mystery sort, clothes porn, and… look, I’ll take basically anything for this show.
I always love a good enemy ship, and Blake/Travis is a particularly delightful example. Their background, Travis’s overwhelming hatred of Blake, Blake’s repeated failure to kill him… Why does he keep sparing Travis? In Duel he justifies it because the Federation would just send someone else in Travis’s place and at least Blake knows he’s capable of defeating Travis, but it doesn’t ring entirely true. It could just be him being merciful, but personally I have a soft spot for the idea that Blake’s fucked over about his brainwashing (speaking of which, how does Blake’s period of compliance on Earth fit into Travis’s vendetta against him?) and is aware that Travis is probably the person who knows him best and so subconsciously unwilling to kill Travis because of that. Again, go with either Travis here, whenever you choose to set it.
I want so many different things for this pairing, from smut: Travis dubconning Blake (all the way up to extremely dubious consent), or sex pollen, to something more plotty: like the two of them being stuck in a situation where they’re forced to work together. Smut would be fantastic, but they’ve both been fucked over by the Federation and are both ruthless men willing to do terrible things for their beliefs (and I freaking adored the way the last episode drew deliberate parallels between them), so I’d love to see something where they’re forced to warily interact on a level beyond simply trying to kill each other. I’d also be open to Blake’s clone acting as a stand-in for Blake himself. They had to travel together, so what would that have looked like, considering what happened to the first clone? It’s also fine for the ship to take a back seat to character development.
Optional Prompts
- We’ve heard the story of what happened between Blake and Travis, but we only hear the latter half of it through Blake’s somewhat compromised memories. What if it didn’t happen quite the way Blake described?
- Travis survives Star One and runs into Blake. Does Travis regret what he did or is he completely unrepentant? And considering the consequences of destroying Star One, it’s not like Blake is entirely comfortable on the moral high ground. Perhaps there’s an external conflict that forces them to work together and not just kill each other there and then, but I’d also be willing to just seen them both too tired and broken to fight and so calling a truce of a kind just for one night.
- Smut (although character development would be welcome here too) – It occurs to Travis, possibly at Servalan’s urging, that he might be able to use the clone to work out his issues with Blake, and a hundred petty little moments of cruelty escalate into extremely dubconny sex.
- Sex pollen, whether the fic focuses on that specifically or on the aftermath.
- Blake ends up brainwashed again and an extremely resentful Travis is set as his guard dog with explicit instructions not to harm him and the ability to erase Blake’s memories if he thinks Blake is starting to suspect something is wrong. It’s not like he was planning on taking advantage of the situation, but it just sort of happened that way. Does Blake start growing on him despite Travis’s best efforts or does the whole situation just intensify the antagonism between them?
- They get stuck in a time loop, (some kind of simulation, perhaps?) and the only way out of the time loop is for them to work together to get them both out of the situation in one piece or, uh, possibly for them to fuck.
- Canon divergence due to bad guy switching loyalties - Watching the show, particularly during season 2 (and with Crais from Farscape in mind), part of me was secretly hoping we'd get to see Travis joining the Liberator's crew, even if just temporarily. It dangled that possibility in front of me in Hostage and it came to nothing, but what if he did switch loyalties? What would it take for that to happen, both for him to switch loyalties and for the crew of the Liberator to tentatively accept that? Would the crew ever be able to 'trust' him enough to work with him (I mean they barely trust each other as it is...)? Is he genuinely seeking redemption or is it all an elaborate scheme? How would it change the dynamics of the crew?
Optional Art Prompts
Blake and Travis – Ohhhh boy, the LOOK of these two together, and again I have the same slight preference for either Travis I or outlaw!Travis II. That scene from their backstory where Blake fires on Travis! Blake getting tortured. Somewhat dubiously consensual sexually explicit fanart (sex pollen, or use of aphrodisiacs?). Travis burying his fingers in Blake’s hair and jerking his head back. A post-coital scene where they’re either sated and exhausted and it’s only just beginning to dawn on them what a terrible idea that was, or where that has already become very clear indeed. A moment where they have to work together. Blake having Travis at his mercy and deciding – again! – to spare him. Them drinking together in a bar as part of that Travis survives Star One AU. Evil or brainwashed!Blake working alongside Travis.
Britannia
Requested Ship: Lucius/Aulus Plautius
Requested Medium: Art and Fic
Oh god oh god oh god. Right. Sometimes you just come across one of those shows that you absolutely love to bits, which are basically so perfect that they had to be made for you. For me, this is one of those shows. I love it. I love it so much that I'm actually flailing the tiniest little bit at how much I love it. It's so fucking good, omg, and yet I'd barely even heard of it until very recently. I started it knowing virtually nothing about it aside from having watched the trailer: I saw Zoe Wannamaker, Mackenzie Crook, and Julian Rhind-Tutt in the cast list and went in assuming it was going to be a comedy. Ahahaha, no. Although it has made me laugh pretty damn hard a couple of times. But yeah, no, not a comedy. Not in the slightest.
It's gorgeous. I love the visuals, the scenery porn, the ambiguous supernatural themes and how they veeeery gradually get less ambiguous over the course of the series, the weirdly janky but sort of perfect way the music in the opening credits fits with the tone, the creepy fucking visuals of the druids. And the way the Romans react to this vision of Britain too, as this eerie shifting landscape of ghosts and curses and magic. The characters: I love them all. I love everything about it. There isn't a single character or aspect of the show which I wouldn't love to see explored in more detail.
As always, I'd love to see character studies, scenery porn, elements of horror, creepy ambiguity, smut, complicated questions of loyalty and betrayal, canon-divergences, Bad Guys Win!AUs… Seriously, I want everything.
I mean, I knew right from the first moment that Aulus was going to be a favourite of mine because I am horribly predicable, but Lucius is fast becoming one of my favourites too. His relationship with Aulus, how long they've known and fought alongside each other, his gradual growing unease as he begins to realise something's not right with Aulus, how freaked out he is by the part he played in the prophecy, his unease with the druids, and the way things are going, and god, the moment when he decides to stop Aulus, which is the most brutal fucking thing. And when we see him again in season 2, in hiding as a deserter, struggling with his grief and guilt over everything he's done, and his gradual search for redemption. I'd love to see their past explored -- we get some hints of the campaigns they've fought together in the past (that story about their time in Egypt *shiver*). And while I'm not quite sure about the Christian themes that are starting to thread through the show, that absolutely does NOT apply to Lucius's arc, because holy crap, am I desperate to know what happens next and for him to meet Cait (god, it killed me when he ran into her father).
And Aulus, Christ, Aulus. I'd love to see him explored. Is he inherently a demon, or is he like Divis in that he's just possessed and the real man is in there somewhere? How long has he been possessed, and at what point did the demon begin to take over? At what point does Lucius begin to realise something is wrong with him, or notice the change in him?
And just the way their relationship is presented in the first season show in general: the shared history, the loyalty kink, the fact that they're both ruthless, brutal men, who end up being changed by the place around them, and the question of how much of Lucius's behaviour happens of his own volition.
Optional Prompts
- Alternate Universe - Bad Guys Win - One thing I love about this series is how completely it's left me guessing. What exactly is Aulus's plan? What would a world where he's won look like and how does Lucius fit into that world? Is there any humanity left in Aulus? Show me Lucius failing Cait, or confronting Aulus in a hopeless last stand.
- Character's enemy is the only one who understands them - Anything exploring the relationship between Aulus and Lucius, whether you treat it as gen or something more. Explore that weird place between betrayal and loyalty, and I'm especially fascinated by the way the show treats free will. It often isn't clear whether characters are acting under their own volition, and this is especially true of Lucius towards the end of the first season. Does he consider going back? Does he come into contact with the druids?
- Dreams bleeding into reality - Perhaps he comes down with a fever. Is Aulus fucking with him (or just fucking him) through his dreams or is he just dreaming? Is there part of him that desperately wants to go back?
- Explore their backstory and shared history. When did they first meet? What was the outcome of what happened at Golgotha, or on any number of the campaigns they’ve fought together, whether it’s set in the past or Lucius being tormented by memories/hallucinations of everything he’s done.
- And speaking of everything Lucius has done, was it in service for Rome or in service for Aulus? Explore his motivations for the betrayal, because that fascinates me. To what extent was he influenced by the druids and/or Aulus? Was there a moment when he realised that every terrible thing he’d done in Rome’s name had really been for Aulus, and to what extent was he aware of that while he was doing it?
Optional Art Prompts
I mean… look at them. XD I really like the look of the Roman armour, and the visuals of the show as a whole. The druids, the stylised dream sequences, and the creepy elements of horror. A scene from their shared history, Lucius struggling with his burgeoning conscience after Golgotha, with Aulus ‘helping’ him through it. The spear? The hints of Lokka lurking in the shadows. Maybe something going heavy with light and shadow with Lokka lurking in the shadows and some hint of Cait in the light?
Dishonored
Requested Ship: Corvo Attano/Teague Martin
Requested Medium: Art and Fic
I’m honestly a little baffled that this ship isn’t larger than it is, given all the whump potential of Corvo rescuing Martin from Holger Square. And yeah, okay, maybe it’s because Martin is a treacherous little weasel, but he’s a fascinating treacherous little weasel, and I ship them like burning. It hit me out of nowhere this ship, and I ship them all the harder for how hopeless and bleak and messed up it all is, with the betrayal and Corvo having been marked by the Outsider, not to mention his having just seen his lover murdered right in front of him. I just wish there was more fic for this pairing.
I'm enthralled by the Loyalists and everything that's going on behind the scenes with them while the events of the first game are taking place. But Martin especially: all that delicious angst and guilt as he struggles with his conscience and how he owes Corvo everything but still betrays him. His shady background is hinted at, but never really expanded on, and his true feelings about the Overseers is never quite made clear. Is he really a man of faith, or is it just a convenient route to power?
I’d be thrilled with anything that captures the awkward place between love/attraction, obligation and betrayal, or which tackles their awkward backstories and complicated emotions. Any level of relationship is welcome, from hateship, to using each other as a distraction, to one-sided pining, to genuine love and affection: mainly I’d be fascinated to see what you come up with for these two. Perhaps Martin's still recovering from his injuries, or Corvo's still mourning Jessamine, and trying to bury his grief in sex (whether meaningless or otherwise). Maybe they're trying to keep it quiet for whatever reason, or Martin is still struggling with the decision of whether or not he should turn against Corvo. Plotty canon-divergent fic is particularly welcome here.
Optional Prompts
- Post-canon ‘fix-it’ fic, although the actual fix-it part is entirely optional.
- A Bad Guys Win!AU. Corvo fails to stop the Loyalists but isn’t killed. Maybe he’s just injured or imprisoned, and resurfaces years later. Perhaps Martin regrets what happened and has done his best to make amends by serving Emily as best he can, and then he starts to hear rumours about an assassin who sounds very much like Corvo. Does he hole up somewhere or go looking for him?
- Something set during the events of the first game. Corvo is still mourning Jessamine, Martin is still recovering from his injuries, and the whole situation is ripe for some gloriously angst iddy whump. Could be smut or emotional or physical hurt/comfort.
- The Outsider reaches out to Martin and offers him powers, perhaps the chance to go back and change events.
- Something set during the final mission of the first game: Emily is saved, the Loyalists are defeated, but Martin is still alive and Corvo has some loose ends to tie up.
- A canon-divergent AU where they’re discovered or betrayed and the Hound Pits Pub is overrun with the Lord Regent’s men and they have to scramble to survive whilst protecting Emily.
Optional Art Prompts
I absolutely love the gritty visuals of Dunwall: the rats, the grimy brickwork, the ruined buildings, the whales, and the eerie distorted imagery of the Void, so I'd be thrilled with anything that captures the look and feel of the world, and in particular, if you can somehow capture moments of beauty (a gorgeous sunset? oilslick rainbows on the river water?) along with the grittiness, then all the better.
For Corvo and Martin, oh god, the look of these two together. *hearteyes* Maybe a quiet moment captured in the pub, Martin still bruised and beaten to shit, but recovering? Or the moment where Corvo frees him? Or something darker, when Corvo confronts him towards the end of the game? Also up for AUs here too: maybe they meet again in the Void, or Martin's somehow come back? Oh, and explicit fanart for this pairing is welcome.
Kaldor City
Requested Ship: Kaston Iago/Kiy Uvanov
Requested Medium: Art and Fic
First off, I know what a ridiculous long shot this request is, but I have fallen desperately in love with just about everything relating to the setting of Kaldor City. Maybe it’s not such a surprise that I’d fall in love with the setting, since The Robots of Death, the Doctor Who episode which first introduced Kaldor City is basically And Then There Were None with killer robots (and look, if you’re not at all sure what to give me for this, then And Then There Were None with killer robots is a pretty damned good bet).
I originally picked this up because I’d heard it was a crossover between Doctor Who and Blake’s 7 and I was curious how that would work. Turns out I love it. I love everything about it. It’s clever, brutal, bleak (oh god so bleak) and really bloody funny. I especially love the way it links the two shows without ever quite feeling like either one. I love the setting, the class divide, the grittiness of the sewer pits, and the twenty founding families, and the idea of robophobia as this utterly crippling condition, and the worldbuilding that goes into what a civilisation reliant on robot technology would look like. I love the ambiguity, and the tonal shift over the course of the series too, the way it goes from a fast-paced techno-thriller to something altogether weirder and creepier as everything falls apart into bleakly awful cosmic horror.
Aaaand then there’s the characters. Uvanov is, without a doubt, one of my favourite characters in anything, ever. He’s a bastard, with the veeeery slightest little sliver of decency, but mainly he’s a devious, greedy, paranoid, amoral, social-climbing, murdering little shit. <3<3<3
And then there’s everything to do with Kaston Iago. It’s up to you whether or not you choose to write him as a post-Gauda-Prime Avon. Personally I don’t quite buy it: Avon’s a bastard, but he’s not quite that much of a bastard. I headcanon Iago as a clone instead, but either is fine, or alternatively have him be someone else entirely.
I love the way they bicker and manipulate each other (and each of them in turn being manipulated by Carnell – who is wonderful in this as well, fucking with virtually everyone behind the scenes and generally being delightfully smug. :D). And how reliant on Iago Uvanov becomes without ever quite trusting him, because he’s a paranoid bastard who doesn’t trust anyone, let alone his bodyguard/hired assassin. Give me smut or explore their relationship, whether it's simply a convenient sexual arrangement for both of them or one or more of them catches feelings which he/they don't know what to do with because they're both such utter bastards.
Optional Prompts
- Iago is a man of many skills. Why the hell did he decide working as Uvanov’s security consultant/hired assassin would be a good idea? And why did he come to Kaldor City in the first place?
- Being Uvanov’s personal security consultant/hired assassin wasn’t supposed to involve sex, but since it’s not like Uvanov’s ever going to trust anyone else… (although its not like he really trusts Iago…)
- Considering robots aren’t supposed to be able to kill, they do seem to go on killing sprees on the regular. In Robots of Death the Doctor suggested that if it ever got out it might be the end of their civilisation, so what are the consequences of the latest robot killing spree which can’t be explained away as the fault of ore raiders?
- We never actually get to see a post-apocalyptic Kaldor City, or ever even find out if it actually happened, so that would be fun to explore, whether it’s the result of what happens in canon or something more prosaic, like panic after the robot uprising.
- Look, if all else fails, I will always love a murder mystery, or another version of And Then There Were None, with or without killer robots.
Optional Art Prompts
The original set and costume design in The Robots of Death was so gorgeous – those ridiculously opulent clothes and the stylised robots, and I’d love to see that extrapolated to Kaldor City itself, that bleak cityscape of urban decay contrasted with the opulent world Iago and Uvanov mostly move in. Oh, and skulls.
The Last Days of Pompeii – 1984 Miniseries
Requested Ship: Lydon/Sporus
Requested Medium: Art and Fic
(Available on Youtube here: part one, part two, and part three. Also, please note this section contains some fairly significant spoilers.)
Basically my distilled pure id from start to finish. Hallucinatory dubcon threesome sex, rival gladiators, doomed lovers, and so many satisfying death scenes I’m shivering in delight at the thought of them. I enjoyed the book too, but found myself preferring a lot of the changes the miniseries made – many of the characters are significantly more likeable, and I was low-key invested in a *lot* of the canon ships and friendships. I also thoroughly appreciated that they decided to give the gladiators more of a role in the story, that they eased back on the ‘Ancient Greece is massively superior to Ancient Rome’ theme in the book, and added a couple of the characters who came to be favourites of mine (especially Chloe <3).
Go with a fix-it or take full advantage of my being fine with Major Character Death and wallow in the tragedy and grief. I’d particularly love to see the gladiatorial life explored a little, especially the various relationships between them all, and canon-divergent AUs are welcome, as are fix-its, whether they’re genuinely fixing things or otherwise. The only thing I would ask you to avoid, if you’re doing a canon-divergent fic, is an AU where Vesuvius doesn’t erupt because that's the whole freaking point. :D Aside from the requested ships, one of the things that appeals about canon is the web of interconnecting friendships (Lydon and Glaucus comparing wrestling styles XD) so I’d love to see that reflected too if you have a chance.
Sporus is a fantastic character, a tightly knit bundle of resentment, envy, jealousy, and bitterness (I love how pissy he is at not being appreciated when Marcus snipes at him for killing his opponent in the arena). And the early scene after the first gladiator fight when he helps Lydon with his armour and tells him, utterly sincerely, to be careful. <3<3<3 And then later the scene where Lydon is training with Gar, and Sporus doesn’t know whether to be jealous of Gar or Nydia or of Lydon being champion. And his lines in his final scene, which led to a massive record scratch on my part: Lydon, I did love you. Not ‘Lydon, I loved you’ but ‘I DID love you.’ Implying… what? That the question of his feelings for Lydon had come up at some point in the past? Did they have a fling? Was Lydon in love with Sporus before Nydia? Did Sporus deny him? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? And Lydon holding his hand while he dies… goddamnit, my heart.
I would love backstory for this, or something set during canon. Canon-divergent AUs are always welcome, and I’d also be happy for any level of ship: from fully realised, to pining, whether mutual or one-sided. If you're not sure what to do with Nydia, I'm pretty invested in Nydia/Ione and Nydia/Glaucus/Ione. Alternatively it’s fine not to mention her at all.
Optional Prompts
- We know how and why Lydon came to be a gladiator and why he continues in that life despite having earned his freedom, but what about Sporus? Was he already there when Lydon turned up as a slave whom no one expected to last more than a couple of matches?
- Always here for descriptions of gladiator matches or sparring, the blood, the sweat, the sexual tension… Also helping each other with their armour, and tending to wounds afterwards. And, uh, bathhouses.
- And hey, if you just want to write PWP, sex in the wake of a match or sparring session wouldn’t go amiss.
- What happened when they all left Pompeii for Campania?
- A post-canon fix-it. Lydon escapes Pompeii with an injured Sporus. What does the aftermath look like? Bitter angst and hurt/comfort welcome here. Given what a massive jealous shit Sporus is in canon, I’d love to see that explored.
Art Likes
Here for all the depictions of sweat, blood, and gladiator armour of the arena, and I’d also love to receive explicit artwork for either pairing. Some fairly astonishing frescoes of gladiators have survived as well as some gladiator-related graffiti, so it would be pretty damn cool to get a pastiche of those or something which otherwise reflects Roman artworks in some way.
Thanks for reading!
